Good Bath Time

Bath time has been a constant fight over the past few week, but last night we ran a bubble bath. Both both really enjoyed it. When it was time get out I let the water out and turned on the shower. Avery though this was great Eli not so much. I got Eli rinsed and dried and then a great thing happened, he asked to sit the potty. Nothing happened there but he did spend some time on the seat. I was very happy. Avery stayed in the shower the whole time and was very excited to get wrinkle fingers.

Another weekend half over

Today we had a fun day for the most part. No house work at all. We had a slow morning the included a Wallace and Gromet move and a Bob the builder. Then the boys and I went to visit Uncle Bob and Aunt Sandy. We tried to go to a draft horse competition, but arrived a little late. We still got to ride on the draft horse wagon though (the same one from Jacksonville). Then we headed to DQ for a treat. A quick stop at Black bird for some tourist photos and we were done. There are pictures comming on Picasa so keep take a look over there.

Home improvement continues

We are still chugging along on our projects to finish so we can put the house on the market. Here Avery is showing Georgia how installed the drywall on the header into the kitchen. It only took 5 years to get to that projects. All the base board molding is in thanks to Uncle Bob and we are about half way through painting it. Georgia has got the bathroom all spruced up. We were going to spray the fence this weekend but there was to much wind. We are making progress but it seems slow. Hopfully we can get the family moved up to Roseburg in the next few weeks.

Status of the Kershner Blog

It has been questioned weather or not the Kershner's Blog is dead. Well I don't think so it is just on hold for a while. Since I am only with the kids on the weekend I don't have much to blog about. Lets face it what I do at work it not what most people want to here about, but if you want to hear about what I saw down a manhole let me know and I will keep you filled in. I will try a little harder to keep something up at least once a week. Georgia and and the kids should get moved up to Roseburg in the next month sometime so I will have more to Blog about.

We introduced the kids to Reddi Whip yesterday. There are a few more pictures up on Picasa. It was a hit.

Sweet Boy

Avery was chomping at the bit to get outside so we just let him go after a little lunch. There was a knock on the door a few minutes later. I grumbled as a walked to the door. If he wants to go out so bad why does he not want stay there. Turns out he had picked this flower for Georgia. I got one a few minutes later. No more grumbling.

Avery flower for mom.
P.S. he just shoved a dandy lion through the dog door.

A weekend of firsts

Along with turning one, have his carseat turned around, eating cake and taking some unprovoked steps Eli also made his first trip to Buncom, Oregon. Here is us in front of the United States Post Office. The building comprised 1/3 of the town.

Happy Birthday

We had a very nice day for Eli's birthday. Both sets of Grandparents made it down for the event. Grandma Mickey came over and so did Uncle Bob. All other parties that were planning on comming came down with various ailment. We hope everyone is feeling better. Eli enjoyed his cake very much. He had two hand fulls and would alternate between them. There will be some pictures up on Picasa tonight or tomorrow.

Happy Birthday, here is a needle in you leg

Today was Eli's 1 year check up, just one day shy of his first birthday. All things checked out okay. He weighed in at 20.3 lbs and was 30 inches long. He got a shot in each leg. I am of the opinion that the shots don't bother him that bad, but being held in one place really gets his blood pumping. The doctor said he was meeting all him milestones for a normal one year old, which is good since he was born so early.

Its good to be spring!

For the last two days the boys and I have been enjoying the sunshine in the after noon. Even though it is below freezing at night, daytime temperatures have been pushing up into the 60's. Today we did a little work on the flower bed. Eli was a big fan of Avery's rake. He spent most of his time twirling it above his head, or just sitting and watching what Avery and I were doing. It is so nice to be outside in the sun! Too bad it looks short lived.

More Food Please

For those of you who have not had the pleasure of eating with Eli as of late, this is a visual representation of how he sounds when he wants more food. Home Town Buffet will never be the same.

Avery Learns to Peddle

We are currently in Bend visiting Gary and Krista. We went outside for a bit on Friday and Avery figured out how to peddle. We made several trips from the shop to the house. He kept getting better. It is snowing today so we have not been back out.

Me and the Boys

As a cost cutting measure we have cut the boys back to two half days at daycare. We don't want to lose our spot and this is the bear minimum that they allow. Today was my first day home with the boys in the afternoon. All things considered it went well. Being with them has been the best part of being laid off. I need to work on the routine a little but we will get better at it. Eli and I had a nap in the rocking chair while Avery had "quite time". I woke up to " Want to Get UP!" being repeated over and over. I survived though and so did they. Probably the most stressful part of the afternoon was taking the picture below. Avery wanted to run the camera and kept moving things and Eli wanted to stand on the tripod and eat the PC cable running to the flash. During the process Eli did stand up for probably 30 to 45 seconds all by himself. That was a personal best for him. I snapped a bunch of pictures but they don't really tell the story.

Happy Birthday Uncle Bob

Today we were invited to dinner with Uncle Bob and Aunt Sandy for Uncle Bob's Birthday. We had a good meal and a great time. Eli has taking to shrieking when he wants something. You could hear him from one end to the other of Hometown Buffet. It is strange when Avery is the quite one. Below is Avery explaining the drawing he made on Uncle Bob's card. I believe there was a backhoe, and airplane and a tractor. Don't be shocked but the card was green, as in "My favorite's green!". Avery got to pick out his desert, as anyone should at a buffet. He picked the green cake of course. Being able to read would have helped him out because green cake was the sugar free desert. Luckily dad came through with the soft serve cone (swirl in case you are wondering).

He has a new name for everything.

Today we went and visited my Grandmother in Ashland. Grandma Micky loves jewelery. Avery was looking through a small jewelery box that his cousin Michael had made for Grandma and admiring all the rings in it. He took over to Grandma and they examined them together. He picked one out that he thought she should wear. Grandma agreed and said "let me take off my wedding rings and put that one on." Avery said "Daddy has a wife ring too." Looks like he gets it already.

Ahhhhhh

The first signs of spring are starting to appear here in the valley. It was in the mid 50s today and the sun was out every once in a while. Recent rain has started our grass growing. Avery and I went out a played a for a bit this evening. We tossed the disc around, played chase, played with the hose (no water just the hose) and of course we broke out the shovel. He dug a nice hole so I can sprain my ankle when I push him on his swing. After our 2 weeks hovering around freezing in Switzerland is was nice to be out without a parka and a gloves.

There are a few new pictures up on Picasa.
